Dr. Mahsa Safavi is a board-certified family medicine physician dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care for adults. She believes that exceptional primary care begins with listening carefully, understanding each patient as a person, and developing an evidence-based care plan tailored to the patient’s individual health needs and goals.
Dr. Safavi’s clinical interests include preventive medicine and annual wellness visits, chronic disease management, cardiovascular risk reduction, weight management and health education. She cares for patients with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol, while also providing evaluation and treatment for common acute medical concerns.
What drew Dr. Safavi to family medicine was the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with her patients. She values getting to know the person behind the diagnosis and particularly enjoys the preventive side of medicine—helping patients identify health risks and address them before they become more serious problems.
Dr. Safavi earned her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and subsequently completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Toronto, where she also completed fellowship training in breast diseases. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and licensed to practice medicine in California.
Originally from Iran, Dr. Safavi spent 15 years living in Canada before making California home. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, going to the beach, gardening, swimming, reading and continuing to learn.
